Building High Performing Managers Assessment
The Competency of Building High Performing Managers
Managers use their cognitive capacity to solve operational problems and anticipate potential road blocks.
They oversee the timely and successful delivery of programs and services within their area of responsibility by distributing the work among staff and making appropriate provisions for follow-up to see projects through to completion.
When working with others, managers use a collaborative approach. They work effectively with others to achieve common goals and enhance the overall effectiveness of their organization.
Managers recognize the importance of developing and maintaining positive relationships with others for the productivity and well-being of their unit.
They consider the human component of issues and decisions, and they deal with differences in opinion constructively and fairly before it escalates into conflict.
They use a clear and concise communication style to ensure that their messages are understood.
They are able to elicit and maintain sufficient interest from their audience and they recognize the importance of listening skills for effective two-way communication.
Managers are open to and encourage change. This allows them to meet operational commitments while responding appropriately to changing circumstances and new priorities.
