System/Program Implementation Risk Assessment

The purpose of the System/Program Implementation Risk Assessment is to gain knowledge and insight of the respondents’ perceptions and feedback that the system/program implementation will improve and strengthen the organization’s formal and informal strategies, operations, systems, and structures.  Management generally acknowledges that a major initiative comes with certain levels of “pain.”  The assessment helps identify these areas of concern and provides a basis from which to deal with them in a positive way during the system/program implementation.

Categories of Assessment
There are 30 questions across three categories (10 questions for each category) of assessment;

Organizational Capabilities (Can We Do It?)
Organizational Performance (Is It Important?)
Individual Performance (Will We Do It?)

Question Stems and Performance Statements
Typical questions are

Ability/Skills/Resources.  To what extent does this organization have the abilities, skills, and resources to complete this system implementation?

Enabling Technology.  To what extent are you confident that your organization has the technology it needs to complete this system implementation?

Process Change.  To what extent will work processes improve as a result of the system implementation?

Organizational Gain/Pain.  To what extent do you expect the implementation will deliver more positive gain than negative pain?

Career Opportunities.  To what extent will the system implementation increase career opportunities for you and your co-workers?

Workload.  To what extent has your workload in the new system implementation been clearly defined?

Reports and Optional Feedback Features
The results are tabulated and presented instantly.  There are optional areas for recording expression, development, next steps, and action planning.  There is also a companion set of group reports aggregating all respondent’s scores and showing similarities and differences, areas of consensus and concern, providing a basis for discussion and development opportunities.
